Soft On Sin Is Fake Love

temple3b (2)Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth. This amazing insight is found in what we call the love chapter of the Holy Bible in First Corinthians chapter 13. This word rejoice means: to be cheerful, be glad, or happy. Love is never happy about iniquity. As a Christian, you must not be happy about iniquity in any of its forms.

Very recently the Supreme Court of the United States ruled, that two men or two women have a constitutional right to marry each other. To put it bluntly, this ruling reeks. It is a stench in the nostrils of Almighty God. This is legalizing abominable iniquity. Check out Leviticus 20:13, where this is called abomination. The word abomination here means: something disgusting or an abhorrence. Also read Romans chapter one. Love is never happy about evil.

Several so-called Christian pastors and/or ministers have spoken favorably about this ruling. These men are rejoicing in iniquity. They are happy about it. Based upon the love chapter, this is an act of hatred. To support people’s sinfulness is NOT an act of love. To  be soft on sin is to make people comfortable in what the Almighty hates, and this endangers the souls of the people we are claiming to love. It is an act of love to carefully warn people against committing sin.

If you have loved ones committing adultery, fornication, theft, worshipping other gods, homosexuality, making idols, misusing the name of Almighty God, dishonoring father and mother, and doing other evil things, IF you love them, then you will not rejoice in their iniquity. You will not smile and laugh in any way about these evil deeds. You will instead show disappointment, disapproval and sadness about what they are doing. Of course you will try to be careful how you do this, but IF you love their soul, THEN you will not allow them to feel comfortable about these things around you.

Many people in the Church have gone soft on sin. They somehow think that loving sinners is NEVER showing any sort of disapproval. This is WRONG and a lie from the pit of hell. Some professing Christians will argue, that Christ was so loving and kind, that He never was harsh on people because of sin. The people that argue these things have a limited understanding of Christ. Yes, you heard me right: they have a limited understanding of Christ.

Imagine Christ fashioning a whip, and then driving the profiteers from the temple. He spoke of them turning His Father’s house into a den of thieves. Yes, Christ was meek and mild and full of mercy and grace; and yet, He was also full of justice and judgment. If you had been a profiteer in the temple on the day that Christ drove them out with a whip, you would NEVER put forth the idea, that Christ would never harshly deal with sinners. Almighty God used to hate sin, Almighty God presently hates sin, and Almighty God will always hate sin in the future, because it is completely contrary to His nature. It is the Almighty’s hatred for sin and His love for humanity, that nailed Christ to the cruel cross.

Have you ever read the term “falling away” in the Holy Bible? This is the ancient Greek word “apostasia”, better known in English as apostasy. Simply put, this term means: defection from the truth or to forsake. The term “Apostate Church” means: that which once knew Christ, but has at least for now defected from the truth. There is an alarmingly high percentage of Christendom that has already defected from the truth, or is in grave danger of defecting from the truth. The Church leaders who speak affectionately about the United States Supreme Court ruling allowing same-sex marriage, have defected from the truth. They have placed their souls in jeopardy and have brought about an emergency-need in their lives of returning from whence they have fallen. The Almighty is ready and willing to receive them back into His favor, IF AND ONLY IF, they return to Him from whence they have fallen. If they continue to harden their hearts unto the end, then they will suffer the devastating phenomena of eternal damnation.

I will return to my first paragraph and say: if you love someone’s soul,  then you will not be soft on sin. Sin destroys eternally. If you love someone, you will tend to make them uncomfortable with the evil things they are doing. Making them uncomfortable in this way will not further endanger them eternally; quite to the contrary, it will give them a fighting chance of being rescued from their terminal condition. Don’t tell me that it is unGodly to speak harshly of sin, because sin will harshly destroy their lives unchecked. Love them gently yet firmly with the truth. John 8:32, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”  Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.
