In the Hebrew Bible, in the Book of the prophet Zechariah chapter 12 and 13, an amazing thing is revealed. The nations of the earth will be gathered together against Judah and the city of Jerusalem. This siege is a future event and I will explain why, but first consider this: why do the nations and Satan hate Israel? Satan hates Israel, because they completed YaHVeH’s plan of bringing Messiah into the earth.
The first part of Zechariah chapter 12 describes the Almighty rescuing the people of Jerusalem from the nations of the earth, but then the story takes a very strange turn. The very ONE these people had pierced many centuries earlier suddenly appears to them AND THEY ALL SEE HIM! They look upon Him and realize who He is and what they have done to Him.
Remember, the whole city has just been rescued from the catastrophic intentions of Satan and the nations, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem know, that it is a miracle from YaHVeH, that they are still alive. They are completely overjoyed, but then something even greater begins to unfold right before their very eyes. Notice what the Holy Bible reveals in Zechariah chapter 13.
And one shall say unto Him, “What are these wounds in your hands?” Then He shall answer, “Those with which I was wounded in the house of My friends.” Zechariah 13:6
The people of Jerusalem see their long sought-after Messiah and He lets them examine Him up close and personal. One of them asks the obvious question, “What caused these scars in your hands?” Christ opens their eyes to see, that He was nailed to the cross through His hands for their sins.
Zechariah 12:10 calls it, “the pouring out of the spirit of grace and supplications upon the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” Also in Zechariah 13:1 it says, that a fountain for sin and uncleanness will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem in that day. There is only one fountain for sin, and His name is Yahshua Jesus. The remnant of Israel is not only rescued physically from the armies of the earth, but they are also rescued spiritually from their sins on that day.
JESUS JEW, who is the Savior of the world, will finally be honored and embraced by His own people.
