Wimpy Christians

Many Christians falsely think, that we are supposed to be weak and mild. I detest such a distorted picture. I want my fellow Christians to know, that while we are supposed to be kind and gentle and loving; we are also supposed to be mighty-in-spirit, bold, fearless, and standing up mightily for the Kingdom of God.

Christ said to “turn the other cheek” in the sermon on the mount, and in John 2:15 Christ made a type of whip and drove the profiteers from the temple. He poured out their money and turned their tables over. This was a very aggressive act at the hands of Christ.

In Luke chapter 10 Christ taught about “loving our neighbor”, and in Matthew chapter 23 Christ repeatedly called the scribes and Pharisees hypocrites.

Check out this passage in Luke 13:31-33, “The same day there came certain of the Pharisees saying unto Him: Get you out and depart hence for Herod will kill you. And He said unto them: You go and tell that fox, behold I cast out devils and I do cures today and tomorrow and the third day I shall be perfected. Nevertheless I must walk today and tomorrow and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet be destroyed out of Jerusalem.”

I love how Christ rose up forcefully to let them know, that He was not afraid of Herod. In His zeal, Christ retorted for them to go tell Herod a thing or two. Then sarcastically, Christ pointed out, that Jerusalem had the reputation for destroying  Almighty God’s prophets.

One of the primary functions for my blog is to encourage my brothers and sisters-in-Christ to be aggressive, yet harmless. Have you heard the term “the Church militant”? The Church is not some wimpy organization for weak people to use as a crutch. The Church is the body of Christ. Christ is the Lion and the Lamb. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual. We tread on serpents and scorpions, and through Christ we are not afraid of Satan or demons or tyrants or haters-of-Almighty-God. We are willing to be decapitated for the cause of Christ, and until then push back relentlessly against the works of darkness until that day. We do cling to our guns and religion just like Barack Obama said. It is the right thing to do. We will defend and protect the innocent and the helpless and the ones we love even with violence if necessary. We will not initiate hostilities, but woe to they who presume we will not lift a finger to protect our beloved. We will sound the trumpet from the highest mountains and warn the world of sin and evil. We are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ and we are proud to be numbered with the saints.

Scaramucci’s Wife Destroying Home?

https://www.facebook.com/deidre.ball?lst=717030649%3A1130296468%3A1501273989

Anthony Scaramucci is President Trump’s new communication director. His wife Deidra Ball is reportedly divorcing him, because of his “naked ambition”? So Deidra’s reason for divorce is not infidelity, but because Anthony is extremely ambitious? Deidra may or may not be a good woman, but “extreme ambition” is not Biblical grounds for divorce. Almighty God does not approve of this reason.

The Holy Bible gives one acceptable grounds for a person to terminate their marriage, “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall divorce his wife and shall marry another commits adultery, except it be for fornication.” (Matthew 19:9)

I encourage you to read the whole passage. The Pharisees ask Christ if it is acceptable for a man to divorce his wife for any reason. Christ makes it very clear, that Almighty God does not approve of such behavior, and that infidelity is the only acceptable reason.

The world would have us to believe, that marriage is not really that important, and can be ended for any kind of unhappiness. Unhappiness in this case can be pretty much anything. If you get tired of your mate, if the two grow apart, if your career is suffering, the kids will be better off, etc. ad nauseum. Such terms as “unhealthy relationship” are also common. “Unhealthy relationship” is defined very broadly and is generally-speaking merely a nice-sounding excuse to end one’s marriage covenant.

Question: What will our answer be on the judgment day, when we are asked why we terminated our marriage? I can tell you without hesitation, that Almighty God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16 says, “For the Lord God of Israel says, that He hates divorce.”

The Almighty does not hate the divorcee. He is willing to forgive our sins, if we confess our sins to Him and turn from them; however, He does hate the phenomena known as divorce. It is the breaking of covenantal promise and it is the destroying of a house as it were.

I also want you to know, that if you have been faithful to your husband or wife, and they still divorce you, then you are not guilty of the divorce. They are the guilty party, and you are innocent.  Matthew 5:32 goes as far as to say, that whoever divorces their wife causes them to sin. Notice, whoever puts away their faithful mate is responsible for leaving them vulnerable to sexual immorality.

Back to Anthony Scaramucci: Anthony may or may not be a good man; however, Anthony and Deidra’s house should not be torn down, because he is ambitious. I hope Mrs. Scaramucci will reconsider filing for divorce. I understand, that many times our mates do things that annoy us much. When we make a wedding vow, and our mate makes a wedding vow to us; it is before the most important witness of all, Almighty God. We must keep the words of our covenant. If our mate is unfaithful to us, then we can file for divorce if we wish. Marriage can be hard sometimes and we can become very unhappy, but life is too short to follow the ways of the world instead of the ways of the Almighty. Too often, friends, family or acquaintances foolishly counsel us to end our marriages, even when there is no infidelity. Most of the time this is unGodly counsel.

There will likely be those who will lash out at me for what I have written, but it is foolish to disregard the Word of Almighty God. We should be real men and women, instead of indulging our fallen nature.

Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish plucks it down with her hands. Proverbs 14:1

Who shall abide in your tabernacle. Who shall dwell in your holy hill? . . . .  the one who swears to their own hurt and changes not. Psalms 15:1,4
