“Thou shalt do no murder.” Exodus 20:13 This is the sixth commandment.
If as the atheists say, there is no God, then there is no real deterrent to evil. If there is no God, then there is no judgment day. If there is no judgment day, then why not do anything and everything the heart desires.
Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock did just that. I will finish this thought at the end, but let us build a foundation.
Think about it: liberal judges are busy removing all restraint to evil. Every judge’s decision establishes moral precedent. Every leader’s leadership impacts the culture we live in.
Supreme Court case Engel v. Vitale in 1962 removed prayer from the public schools, thus removing part of the hedge of protection around the United States. The absurdity this case was built upon was the idea, that prayer in the public school violated the so-called “no establishment of religion” clause in the Constitution. This was nothing more than a witty invention for the purpose of undermining “Traditional Christian America”.
Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade in 1973 basically redefined “unborn human infant” as a “fetus”. This cleverly and effectively took away the baby’s humanity while unborn in the mother’s womb. Consequently, after 59 million abortions in the United States, human life is greatly devalued and disrespected.
Supreme Court case Lawrence v. Texas in 2003 legalized homosexuality in the United States. Condoning a practice this vile seared the conscience and soul of America, opening a pandora’s box of immorality across the nation.
Bill Clinton’s illicit sexual activities in the Oval Office itself, further undermined the integrity of righteousness in America. Clinton got away with it and finished his term of presidency. If the President can do things like this, why can’t anyone else? America’s subconscious inhibitions were greatly damaged.
Barack Obama’s love affair with a foreign god and religion (Allah and Islam) tore out huge swathes of the “hedge of protection” that Almighty God had once placed around the USA. Obama’s “wink and a nod” to groups such as “Black Lives Matter” and the “Black Panthers” and a host of other lawlessness phenomena has brought America to the brink of moral collapse if not civil war.
And what about all the various government prohibitions on corporal punishment for children? The government forbids proper discipline, and then wonders why chaos reigns. Other children never knew the love of a caring father or had a good male role model, who took an interest in them.
I am not one bit surprised by what Stephen Paddock did. With no anchor for his soul, and living in a country that regularly shakes its fist defiantly in the face of Almighty God, Stephen Paddock wandered aimlessly from place to place in search of pleasure and entertainment. None of this has ever satisfied the deep longings of the heart of mankind. With life having no meaning, the frustrations of the soul grow into a type of deep-seated sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, or anger, looking for a way of expression. Being the capable man that he was, Stephen Paddock entertained releasing his anger forcibly: even famously. Whether he converted to Islam or not really doesn’t matter; after all, there is not a whole lot of difference between Islamic chaos and other forms of chaos. Stephen Paddock decided to vent his “vexation of spirit” before an uncaring world.
Remember what I said, that if there is no God, then why not murder? American culture has demonstrated that it does not fear Almighty God, and millions of Americans are infected with this mentality. Denying children the right to pray to Almighty God in school is lawlessness. Abortion on demand is lawlessness. Legalizing homosexuality is lawlessness. Inviting Islam into this country is lawlessness. Murder is also lawlessness. Rebellion against Almighty God is lawlessness. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE! Eat, drink, be merry, and do whatever you want to do, for we all are going to lay down in the dust in a while anyway? hmmmmm If there is no God, then keeping the law really does not matter and nothing else matters either.
I can almost hear someone saying, “Mickey, you are so insensitive to say these things at a time like this.” hmmmmm. Happiness is not found in the ways of the world. True genuine happiness only comes from knowing Christ. Why wouldn’t I try to offer the right solution at a time like this?
Having a personal relationship with the Creator brings meaning to life. Christ fills up that empty hole in a person’s soul. Acknowledging that the judgment day is coming, tends to make a person more law-abiding. Christ is that eternal drink of water that quenches thirst and satisfies. Why do we Americans continue to stubbornly resist?
Second Thessalonians 2:7, “The mystery of lawlessness even now shows forth itself. But he who restraineth will continue to restrain until he be taken out of the way.”
