Christ Brings a Sword

images (19)Whoa! Check out this verse! These are the words of Christ. “Think not that I am come to send peace on the earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s foes shall be those of his own household.” Did you get that? People are always saying that God is love, and for a certainty: God is love (I John 4:16).  The problem is, that this is all people want to know and hear. Christ is also the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Christ will come to earth on a white horse as a conqueror. You see, He is both a lamb and a lion. He is THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD, and He is the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. Lions are known for their fierce carnivorous conquests and there is no doubt concerning the warrior implication in the title LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH. So what on earth was Christ referring to when He said He did not come to bring peace but a sword? Christ Himself is the crossroads of human history. Both here and for all eternity, your decision concerning Christ Yahshua Jesus will be the difference of eternal life or eternal damnation. People that read my columns and posts either like them or hate them. I carefully found my words on the authority of the Holy Bible and the WORD is pure truth. John 8:32 says: You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. John 14:6 says: Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life: No man comes to the Father except by me. Christ made an exclusive claim here. He made it clear that Mohammed is not the way to Almighty God the Father. Christ made it perfectly clear, that Buddha is not the way to Almighty God the Father. Christ made it perfectly clear that He alone is the way to heaven. This is an exclusive and divisive statement and Christ purposefully meant for it to be exclusive and divisive. According to Christ the Savior of man, all humans line up either with and for Him, or against Him. This causes conflict. You can talk about Christ in the sweetest, kindest, simplist of terms, but if you tell people He is the only way to Almighty God the Father, then the battle lines have been drawn. Christ is putting it quite simply: if you love Me exclusively the way I insist on being loved, then your father, your mother, your mother-in-law, your family, and many others will quite possibly become your enemy. I have personally had this happen to me several times. To hold up the WORD of Almighty God  to humanity brings about one of two responses: either they will submit themselves to Christ and the Word of God, or they will resist you and even hate you and this is the sword/conflict as it were. Many people have been killed for simply standing for Christ exclusively. Almighty God does not want His people to force His ways on the people of the world. He simply presents eternal life to whosoever will. One more thing. There is an interesting phenomena that takes place with those who give themselves over to Christ. They are suddenly released from bondage and the guilt of sin! The truth makes people free! It seems like the opposite would be true in submitting to Christ, but this is not the case. All peoples of the earth are walking around in chains of sin and its consequences. Almighty God sent Christ to the earth to liberate humanity. Freedom and liberty are come to those who submit to Christ. There is nothing in this world that is greater than being forgiven and set free: blessed be the name YaHVeH now and forevermore.
