“For behold in those days and at that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations and bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. I will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations and parted My land”.
It is commonly reported in world news, that the United States government wants Israel to give up a large portion of its land to the Palestinians. The USA is not alone in this endeavor, for nations around the world are pushing for the same thing. They refer to this part of Israel as the occupied territories or the West Bank, but notice the phrase “parted My land”. Almighty God is clearly calling the land of Israel His land. In Genesis 17:8 He gave it to Abraham for an everlasting possession. In Genesis 26:3 He continues this promise to Abraham’s son Isaac. In Genesis 35:12 the Almighty further extends this promise to Isaac’s son Jacob and his descendants. Almighty God considers the land of Israel to be His land. Who in their right mind would seize the Almighty’s property and give it to someone else? Apparently the rulers of this world would, for we witness their efforts to do this very thing year after year after year. At the present time the Secretary of State John Kerry and the Obama administration are pressing forward forcefully in their efforts to divide the land of Israel. The United Nations is also striving to divide the land of Israel. They have set themselves against Almighty God in this matter.
I would like to conclude with these words. Almighty God does not appreciate the peoples of this world working against His plans. He chose the people of Israel to bring His Word to all of us. He chose them to bring in Messiah. He gave them the land as an everlasting possession. He could have chosen anyone to do this work, but He decided to accomplish these things through the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They have made many mistakes and have sinned grievously but the Almighty has not given up on them. One day the people of Israel will look upon Him whom they pierced and will mourn grievously for Him as it is written in the prophet Zechariah chapter 12. The second to last verse in the book of Joel says that Judah shall dwell forever and Jerusalem from generation to generation. I counsel you rulers and people of this world, that you cease and desist from doing harm to the people of Israel and that you cease and desist from dividing their land. Almighty God will forgive you, if you turn to Him with your whole heart.
